Wednesday September 19 - Aigle

We made the short train ride to Aigle today.  The weather again was very hot and sunny.

We walked a little way out of town to get this superb view of  the Chateau surrounded by vineyards
The vendage is now getting into full swing
On a steep hillside a stone lizard has been designed among the vines

On our walk we watched a train climbing on the rack towards Leysin

We made our way back into town and found a small restaurant with a shady patio which served roast pork with polenta.  We had half a litre of Aigle rose wine. The meal was finished off with a small bunch of white grapes which had been picked this morning.

A pleasant excursion
