Our journey to Paris was through Montreal. We used our Aeroplan points to travel Premium Economy which was much better than Economy but I am not sure it would be worth the additional dollars. We had a long layover in Montreal but we boarded first, deplaned early and our bags were given priority. CDG was not as busy as we have seen it in the past and we actually got through from touchdown to getting on the RER line B in about an hour.
As soon as we left the airport it was good to remember the old familiar things. Lots of mistletoe growing on the trees, the large growths of Old Man's Beard, the tram train at Aulnay sous Bois. There was a slight delay running into the Gare du Nord station and metro line 2 was running as normal. No sign of the recent demonstrations apart from some boarding up of a bank close to the Villiers metro station.
We were early into the apartment and it was good to see Georgina with her little dog Kit.
After getting in some supplies we went for lunch at Le P'tit Canon and were surprised to learn that Christian and Isabel had sold the restaurant and moved to Malaga. Great pity.
Neither of us got much rest last night so it will take a day or so to recover.
